Sixty Minutes an Hour
05:13
|
|||
60 Minutes an Hour
Every moment is for living
To feel the embers burning bright
Yesterday is ashes
Tomorrow may not see the light
Is it so hard to understand?
A precious moment in a hand
Will slip through idle fingers like sand
(Chorus)
As time goes by and precious moments she devours
For time she flies at sixty minutes and hour
Every moment is for seeing
The forest and the trees
Have you ever seen dew on the tip of a leaf
In a moment freeze
All luminous and rainbow colours
Then the moment flies
And the leaf is lost in the crowd of trees
(Chorus)
As time goes by and precious moments she devours
For time she flies at sixty minutes and hour
Every moment is for loving
What do you want to be fighting for?
Don’t you dream of children born?
In a world with no more war
We’ve got to calm these stormy waters
Make them safe for our sons and daughter
Make happy waves with rhythm and harmony
(Chorus)
As time goes by and precious moments she devours
For time she flies at sixty minutes and hour

Chasing the White Dove
04:36
|
|||
Chasing the White Dove
Who am I that laughs and cries?
With all my hopes and dreams
And all the colours in between
Cast like a leaf into the throes
Of a river that twist and ebbs and flows to the sea
Just blowing through the motions
Like driftwood on a shoreless ocean
Been drifting through these lazy days
Always dreaming about tomorrow
Or lost in yesterday
I’m a castaway in a foggy haze
I’ve seen boat and watched it sail away
(Chorus)
And I ain’t found no reason to believe in no God above
No I ain’t found no answers blowing in the wind
Guess I’ll keep chasing the white dove
(Repeat Chorus)
I’ve walked a thousand mile or more
Always end up kicking pebbles
On the same shore
While the butterfly goes fleeting by
Perfect symmetry and colour
Lost in the blinking of an eye
And it’s hard to see through frosted glass
A world that’s spinning tumbling moving much too fast
(Repeat Chorus)

Parasiteful
03:39
|
|||
Parasiteful
Earth, air, fire and water
Scoop it all up don’t give no quarter
Who’ll carry the can any way?
But our sons and daughters
Forests green and deep blue oceans
Bloom to feed the honey sipping notions
Of glib politicians with their hazy green decisions
For our children, and our children’s children
(Chorus)
As they scoop it all up
Ain’t Mother Nature so delightful?
Scoop it all up
Go on take another biteful
There’s more than enough
Go on suck it all up
There’s never enough; never enough
For the Parasiteful
(Repeat chorus)
Sun is King and earth is mother
We the pilgrim prodigal lover
Insatiable virus
Dangerously curious to know
(Repeat chorus)
As we scoop it all up
Ain’t Mother Nature so delightful?
Scoop it all up
Go on take another biteful
There’s more than enough
Go on suck it all up
There’s never enough; never enough
For the Parasiteful
Birds in their little nests agree
So why, why can’t we

Charlatans & Blaggers
04:43
|
|||
Charlatans and Blaggers
There’s gonna be big knocks in the yard
Me I’ve had to learn to fall
Only wish I’d learnt to play hard
Wasn’t it a breeze in the hazy days of fun?
When the future was no further than the setting of the sun
Better step lightly in the dark
Like a dog that’s free to roam
Take a sniff at every stone
Take piss on all the vermin
For they’ll crush you for your bone
(Chorus)
All the Charlatans and blaggers
With their thunderbolts and daggers
They’ll do their damndest to reduce you
To just embers in the ashes
Of all you could have been
All you’re gonna be
‘cos I know for certain you’re gonna be a better man than me
You got the looks ain’t you got the smile
You got the guts, you’re gonna need some guile
( Repeat Chorus)
The fools and knaves and bureaucrats
Suited and booted sewer rats with their wooden swords and paper hats
They’ll sell you heartache with a smile
And just when you think that you’re flying high
They’ll clip the wings hope as you fly
( Repeat Chorus)

Tumbleweed
03:22
|
|||
Tumbleweed
I’m losing my soul in this old town
Been here too long now it’s dragging me down
It’s got no get up and get down
Too many pale wan faces with small town frowns
(Chorus)
And I’m deep deep rooted like an old dead tree
Need some wind in my boughs to uproot me
Said I’m deep deep rooted got to get myself free
Ain’t nothing blowing through this town but tumbleweed
And it feels like I’m treading water
And my feet are made of lead
I’m drowning I’m going under
This old town’s gotten into my head
(Chorus)
It’s got me deep deep rooted like an old dead tree
Need some wind in my boughs to uproot me
Said I’m deep deep rooted got to get myself free
Ain’t nothing blowing through this town but tumbleweed
(Chorus)
It’s got me deep deep rooted like an old dead tree
Need some wind in my boughs to uproot me
Said I’m deep deep rooted got to get myself free
Ain’t nothing blowing through this town but tumbleweed
(Bridge)
Gotta find a road
Cut the shackles shed the load
Gotta pop the seed
Or there’ll be nothing blowing through my mind
But tumbleweed
Small minded people and apathy
Can suck the soul from a sensitive guy like me
And I’m suffocating, procrastinating
I need inspiration, rejuvenation
(Chorus)
Because I’m deep deep rooted like an old dead tree
Need some wind in my boughs to uproot me
Said I’m deep deep rooted got to get myself free
Ain’t nothing blowing through this town but tumbleweed

The FlyCatcher
04:34
|

The Fly Catcher
As I walked over north Botley copse
I saw a fine lady ghost across the tops
With a ring on her finger
And the wind on her toes
She can have music where ever she goes
(Chorus)

Lines On a Fisherman's Wife
'twas on a night loud blew the wind
And dismal was the sky
As thunders crashed and lightnings quick
From rock to rock did fly
Yet on that night a form was seen
Upon that dangerous coast
A female's too, ah female's heart
Do ever love the most

Love like Autumn
So it seems we’ve grown apart
The threads of our love are wearing thin
Ain’t it hard when loves tapestry
Is woven into your heart
But you’ve blown your way and I’ve drifted mine
And gone are the evenings of candle-light and wine
(Chorus)
We’re like the wilting of a flower
Or the setting of the sun
We’re like the blazing golden autumn
Fades to brown until it’s gone
Ain’t our love just like autumn
It’s fair to say that we’ve read the signs
Been riding the waves of emotion
That love leaves behind and a part of me
Is gonna love you forever
But you’ve drifted your way and I’ve blown mine
And gone are the evenings of candle-light and wine
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
People come and go
And lovers hold you sway
But for reasons like the seasons
Love blooms and fades away
It always blooms and fades away
(Chorus)
We’re like the wilting of a flower
Or the setting of the sun
We’re like the blazing golden autumn
Fades to brown until it’s gone
Ain’t our love just like autumn

Weightless
02:17
|

Ghosts of Young Lust
The morning tide took me to the mountain
Everything looks better from up there
The days are getting shorter love; the leaves will soon be turning
The birds will soon be heading south
There’re better prospects there
I took the old way up to the tarn
And saw the ghost of young lust in that tumbledown barn
And watched you in the sun again; your feet in the mountain stream
Your smile was beguiling as you teased that I could dream
How we chased and we laughed, and oh that dry stone wall
Was it you were too short or maybe was too tall
Didn’t we weave some magic in the barn
And how we swam like dolphins in the cool sparkling tarn
I was weightless again up on the mountain
Floating onwards in space and backwards in time
To see your face again
And trace your every curve and every line
You’re certain as a mountain in my mind

Don't Say Goodbye
03:01
|
|||
Don’t Say Goodbye
I feel a lot like yesterday’s news
As screwed up as my paper thin excuses
I’m losing grip on all I love and all I dread to lose
Got one foot in the door of the hall of fame of loses
And I’m waiting for a storm to blow in
I can see it in your eyes
And lightning’s gonna strike me
When you say goodbye
(Chorus)
Don’t say goodbye girl
For the tears I’ve made you cry
Will rain forever on mind
Don’t leave me drifting on the tide
Of the ocean that you’ve cried
No don’t say it
Don’t say goodbye
Give me just a little more time
That’s all I need and I’ll make you smile again
I know it’s been a hell of a ride
And you’re bleeding inside but let me try again
But I’ve got a sinking feeling
That you’ve made up your mind
Girl my head is reeling
And I’m pleading one more time
(Chorus)
Don’t say goodbye girl
For the tears I’ve made you cry
Will rain forever on mind
Don’t leave me drifting on the tide
Of the ocean that you’ve cried
No don’t say it
Don’t say goodbye
Don’t say goodbye

Jessica

Jessica
You are so beautiful my little one
So I thought I would write
A little song just for you
The sun always shines when you are there
In the silence of your sleep
In your soft silky hair
(Chorus)
Jessica
Hope the sun always shines on you
And the man in the moon always smiles on you
When you’re sleeping so all your dreams come true
Daisy chains and dancing games that’s what it’s all about
No troubles or strife
Just the novelty of life
So dance for me my little one with ribbons in your hair
Round and round like a carousel
Ain’t life just a fanfare
(Chorus)
Jessica
Hope the sun always shines on you
And the man in the moon always smiles on you
When you’re sleeping so all your dreams come true

A Thomas Hardy Evening
05:17
|
|||
Thomas Hardy Evening
It was a warm and drowsy Thomas Hardy evening
Out a-walking on a whim
For to shake the dust from the rags of a working day
That clutters my mind and holds me sway
On and on in the glow of the westering sun
Catching nature moments as they fly
While evening’s bouquet leaves me stoned, sweetly blown away
With a deep and easy feeling inside in a time out of mind
I saw snap shots in sepia, sheaves of corn and reapers
Drowsy dappled horses in glinting medalled harness
The sweeping scything swallow weaving; the seamstress of the sky
And as a yellow moon was rising I rested in the tall grass of the old wayside
I watched a funny furry bumble bee foraging flower to flower
The buzzing of his industry deepening the peaceful stillness of the hour
And all my cares floated away
Like funny furry dandelion seeds over fields of hay
On and on while the woodland rings with evensong
Through the creaking wicket gate into the leafy throng
No need for church or tower beneath that sylvan bower
For earth and roots and greenery speak louder than empty words to me
'twas a warm and drowsy Thomas hardy evening

The Fledgling
03:55
|
|||
The Fledgling
Where did all those sweet years go?
How fast your wings have grown
To take you away
With new games to play
As you fly
When my heart can’t get no rest
And I’m lost in this empty nest
Sweet memories they flow
With your afterglow
To comfort and warm
(Chorus)
As you fly in your blameless blue sky
For I know that by and by
The fledgling must fly
We’ve shared magic in raindrops
In the wind in the treetops
Laid down our happy heads to dream
To lullabies of mountain streams
And how we’ve dreamed
So fly away with all goodwill
And may your heart with pleasure fill
And may your mind with wisdom see
Your wealth is in your friends and family
(Chorus)
As you fly in your blameless blue sky
For I know that by and by
The fledgling must fly
